Am I Eligible to Study at MST?
Entry requirements for your chosen course must be met. Qualifications from non-Australian institutes will be assessed to determine their Australian equivalence by Australian Government qualification assessment information.
If English is not your first language you are required, by law, to demonstrate sufficient ability to study an Australian Higher Education award. To assess your language capacity, MST requires an IELTS Academic Version Test which can be taken from most locations in the world.
To locate an assessor near to your location, please go to www.ielts.org to book and sit this test. You will need to provide us with a copy of your IELTS test, preferably with your application to study at MST.
If you are applying from overseas and require an IELTS test to be completed, we cannot accept you as a student until we have this test in hand. You will not be eligible to apply for a student visa until you are accepted as a student.
Language Test Exemption
If you have undertaken an accredited award in English from one of the prescribed countries, or have been a resident in Australia for at least 10 years where English is the main language used at home and in your workplace, you may not need to undertake the IELTS test. Please confirm with MST, as you may still be required to sit an IELTS test.

As Melbourne School of Theology is an affiliated college of the Australian College of Theology https://www.actheology.edu.au/, it is helpful for you to consult the Australian College of Theology International Student Handbook available on their International Student Information page https://www.actheology.edu.au/documents/. This Handbook provides regulations and guidelines for international students.
How Do I Apply?

2. Determine Your Assessment Level
Immigration has now a new Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF). They are no longer using the assessment level but the provider and country’s immigration risk rating in determining the requirements for financial capacity and English proficiency. For more information and clarification of your requirements click here.
3. Submitting Application & Reference Forms
To apply, email the Enrolment Coordinator Enrolments@mst.edu.au to request an International Application Form, as well as three Reference Forms to be filled in by your Pastor, your Employer, and a Friend. These forms will need to be filled in and emailed back to the Enrolment Coordinator to register for the following semester intake. PLEASE NOTE: Application processes can take from 1 to 2 months, so plan well in advance.
3. Provide Evidence
You will need to provide evidence that you or a suitable sponsor will be able to pay for your tuition and living costs. Evidence required is stipulated on the above Australian Immigration website listed in Point 2.
5. Processing your Application
Once the Enrolment office has received your application form (completed in full), with all reference forms, transcripts, certificates, and other documentation, your application will be reviewed by the Applications Committee.
