Outbound – Kununurra

Dates: 22 Sept – 1 Oct
Team Leader: Peter Tyrrell (Vice Principal & Field Education lecturer)
Registration Closes: 15 August 2018

Travel to Western Australia’s Kimberley region and work in an Indigenous church community with Living Waters AOG, while seeing the power of radio in sharing the Gospel through Reach Beyond.

Living Waters is an AOG church with a primary focus on indigenous people, working with AAOM (Australian Aboriginal Outreach Ministries Inc). While everyone is welcome to attend their church, their main aim is to provide a culturally relevant, life changing experience for indigenous people. This program will be unique as we look for opportunities to serve in a variety of contexts. The timetable will be very flexible as we fit into life within an indigenous community.

While in Kununurra our team will be staying at Reach Beyond’s broadcasting facility. Formerly known as HCJB, this mission organisation transmits the Gospel from Kununurra to the Asia Pacific region through short wave radio for 6 hours a day in 31 languages. Reach Beyond is part of a global community committed to reaching unreached people groups with the gospel through the use of dynamic media and high-quality programs along with healthcare and community development.
