Course Structure


This program is designed for students who…

Already have some professional experience or would like initial professional development

Wish to further their understanding of the Ministry concepts begun in their first degree in Ministry or Theology

Would like an introduction to the research principles and methods applicable to the specialised study of Ministry.


5 compulsory core units including a 7,000 – 8,000 word project (1 unit), or a 14,000 – 16,000 word project (2 units).

3 electives from any field.

Required Subjects

Students will have the opportunity to choose from core units in the areas of Pastoral & Church-Focussed Ministry or Evangelism & Missiology.


Church ministry can be demanding and full of unexpected challenges that require much wisdom to navigate. Subjects in this area build a firm foundation for ministry that thrives and perseveres in the long-term.


An important aspect of ministry has always been the taking the gospel to those who do not believe. Subjects in this area equip students for this complex and often overwhelming task. MST offers subjects in this area as part of the Arthur Jeffery Centre for the Study of Islam and Other Faiths for those who are particularly interested in Islamic contexts.

Research Project

In depth research in an area of interest discovered in your studies.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Ministry, Theology or other equivalent study.

Non English Speaking Background Students: minimum International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 7.0 with no band score lower than 7.0 in reading and writing or 6.5 in listening and speaking.
