Introduction

In this award, you will be guided through Scripture and the classical discipline of theology in a systematic approach as a means of further preparing you for the responsibility of communicating Christian knowledge in a powerful and coherent way.

Past graduates have gone on to become leaders and pastors who can powerfully preach the Word of God, provide apologetic responses for the Christian community and beyond, and teach the depth of Scripture and Christian tradition with relevance.

You will gain the confidence and biblical grounding needed to faithfully serve the Lord. Our past graduates have had opportunities opened to them in the fields of Christian leadership, academia, mission and the professional world.

You will be equipped with

  • Knowledge and skills to interpret and carefully analyse the Bible, with a comprehensive knowledge of its original context, themes and ideas.
  • Understanding of the historical conditions under which theological world-views have developed and are being shaped today.

Course Structure

The Master of Divinity comprises 24 subjects in total. It can be studied from a minimum of 3 years full-time, and up to 9 years part-time.

Each MDiv Student is required to undertake a Project that is an in depth research essay of 8000 words focused in the area of the student’s major.

Entry Requirements

    Year 12 with ATAR of at least 75
    Mature age entry for students over 21 years
    International English Language Testing Service of 7.0 overall, 7.0 for reading and writing and 7.0 in listening and speaking for Non English Speaking Background students.

Where this degree may take you

Become a pastor, teacher or minister with responsibility for preaching, providing leadership, taking part in wider debates in the Church and engaging with wider debates with the Church.

Become a teacher of diploma-level units in your specialisation in a school or Bible college
