Guest Lecturer

Prof Steve Walton teaches New Testament at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, and is ordained in the Church of England. He combines a love for engaging in depth with Scripture with a passion to communicate the message of Scripture well himself, and to help others communicate that message well in the church and the world today.

Steve has served in parish ministry, among university students, in vocational advising, and in theological education. He has written widely on the New Testament, including a monograph on Paul’s speech to the Ephesian elders, Leadership and Lifestyle (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2000), and a key textbook Exploring the New Testament, vol 1: The Gospels and Acts (2nd edition; London: SPCK, 2011) co-authored with David Wenham.

Steve is also a retired international volleyball referee, and lives with his wife, Ali, and their Border Terrier, Flora, in west London.
