This unique unit is designed for to equip people for a wide variety of Christian ministries, including pastors, missionaries, intercessors and prayer ministers. It is not intended to be a practitioner’s hands-on training course. What it does is lay a theological foundation for deliverance and spiritual warfare ministry, by providing tools for theological reflection. It provides you with a Biblical and theological ‘bigger picture’, to enrich your ministry, on an important area of Christian living that is too often neglected in theological education. It will give you tools to integrate Bible, Tradition, Reason and Experience in your theological understanding and ministry practice.

The unit will cover:

• Biblical theologies of Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare,
• the history of Christian thought and practice in Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare ministry, from the Church Fathers, through Catholic and Reformed insights, to recent approaches developed by Pentecostals and Charismatics,
• theological and pastoral issues in the practice of Deliverance and Spiritual Warfare,
• critical engagement with differing perspectives on this controversial area of ministry, including reflection on why it is controversial.
