MST & Eastern Mission Project
Doon Bible College
India Covid-19 Relief
Here's why this vital project needs your support
COVID-19 in India has been devastating. We’ve all seen images of desperate people looking for help, and a health system that’s been utterly overwhelmed.
Less obvious is the plight of the very poor. The pandemic has stopped people from working, cutting off their only income. With zero government aid and very little savings, families must somehow survive with no food and no medicine.
The city of Dehradun, north of Delhi and one of the worst hit districts in India, is home to Doon Bible College (DBC). In a recent letter to MST & Eastern, the college’s Principal the Rev. Vidush Bhandari wrote:
…there is an urgent need to stand with the ailing and suffering community around us with some immediate relief work and demonstrate the love of Christ in action.
MST & Eastern has welcomed the opportunity to support DBC in its compassionate response and has agreed to fund a relief project to provide 100 families with emergency food rations and medical supplies. The cost is $58 to bring supplies to one family. The total cost of the relief project is $6000.
DBC’s Covid Relief Project is be managed by Rahul Kumar, a graduate of Eastern’s Master of Transformational Development program and member of DBC’s faculty.
2. Give thanks for DBC’s commitment to love its neighbours in this practical way. Pray for the health and well-being of Rahul and his colleagues as they distribute critically needed resources to those who are in greatest need.
Relief has already begun going out to needy families.
Please support the project so that more help can be given.
