Areas of Study

  • Pastoral & Church Focused Ministry (PC)
  • Philosophy & Apologetics (PE)
  • Research Interests

In Philosophy my main area of expertise is Kierkegaard. I also enjoy Plato, Aristotle, Stoicism, Augustine, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, as well as Speech-act theory (Austin & Searle).

In Apologetics I am interested in the different approaches to apologetics, new atheism, the bible and science.

In the Arts, I enjoy a wide range of topics such as theological aesthetics, art history, literature (mainly Tolstoy and Dostoevsky), music and ‘art-house’ film (e.g. Michael Haneke, Andrey Zvyagintsev, Dardenne Brothers).

In Christian Worship my interest is mainly in the application of the spirituality of the Psalms to contemporary worship.

I look forward to hearing from students considering postgraduate work in these fields.
