Unit Code: NT051-812
Pre or Co-requistes: Yes
Romans is one of the key New Testament letters for a Protestant understanding of the Christian faith. This is a complex book, rich in theology, a theology that has both ethical and missional implications. This subject differs from others in the NT elective cycle in that it does not work through the text in an exegetical fashion. Rather, it is a cross disciplinary approach to the book, aiming to show how Romans is relevant for Christian life and ministry. The major themes of Romans will be explored, and there will be interaction with the latest scholarship – including the new perspective on Paul. There will also be workshops conducted on preaching and teaching from Romans, aimed at increasing your proficiency in relating the material in this book to contemporary Christian ministry and practice.
