Unit Code: TH101-712
Pre or Co-requistes: Yes
How do we come to know God? This is surely one of the most exciting questions we could ask.
As a first step, we will try to find answers by looking both at God and the world (and us). We will then take a closer look at the important roles of Scripture and nature, reason and experience. In doing so we will gain a closer understanding of foundational concepts, such as creation, revelation, and inspiration. Having clarified these major concepts we will then move on to discuss in more detail questions such as: How did God create? And why? Why is there sin and evil? What is providence?
Studying this unit will not provide you with “all the answers”, but it will equip you to discuss these intriguing questions with theological competence and pastoral sensitivity. As emerging leaders in Christian ministry, you will benefit significantly by this subject as you get a bigger picture of God’s plan for the world and humanity.
