The Diploma of Ministry is a program of undergraduate study that provides education in biblical, theological, missiological and ministry related disciplines, emphasising application and practice of the gospel message in a contemporary world. The course will integrate studies in the Bible and Christian tradition with practical experience and include supervised practice-based learning where applicable, laying a great pathway towards the Bachelor of Ministry.

Structure

The Diploma of Ministry requires the satisfactory completion of 8 units totalling 96 credit points. Full-time students normally take a study load of 3-4 units per semester, and part-time students 1-2 units per semester.

Biblical and Theological Foundation

Complete two Old Testament or New Testament foundation units:
Old Testament Foundations OT001-512
Old Testament Prophets and Writings OT002-512
Jesus and the Gospels NT001-512
The Early New Testament Church NT002-512
Complete one Christian Thought unit, from Christianity in History (CH), Theology (TH), or Philosophy and Ethics (PE).
Complete a Biblical Exegesis Track (two 6cp units totalling one 12cp standard coursework unit)

Primary Course Discipline (Ministry Stream)

Complete two units in primary course discipline, which includes:

Pastoral and Church-Focussed Ministries (PC)
Evangelism and Missiology (EM)
Developmental Ministries (DE)

Electives

Complete 3 units of your choice

Academic Qualifications

Satisfactorily completed Year 12 with an ATAR of 65 or above, or
Successful completion of a qualification at AQF Level 5 or above, or
Demonstrate academic suitability through a pre-entrance task.

Language Qualifications for NESB

Equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall with no band score lower than 6.0 in each subtest OR 10 years in Australia with English being the language primarily spoken both at home and work.
