Course Details

Overview

Course Code: MML20

Type: Masters
AQF Level: 9

Duration: Minimum 2 years, up to 8 years part time.

Structure

The Master of Missional Leadership requires the satisfactory completion of 15 units plus a research project totaling 192 credit points. The research project is an in depth research essay of 8000+ words focused in the area of the student’s major. Full-time students will normally take a study load of 3-4 units per semester, and part-time students 1-2 units per semester.

 

Complete at least 2 of the following units:

  • Old Testament Prophets and Writings OT002-712
  • Jesus and the Gospels NT001-712
  • The Early New Testament Church NT002-712
  • Principles of Hermeneutics BB003-712

 

Complete at least 2 of the following units:

  • Christianity in History to 1550 CH001-712
  • Christianity in History from 1550 CH002-712
  • Thinking Theologically TH023-712
  • Biblical Theology of Mission BB007-712
  • The Knowledge of God TH001-812
  • The Doctrine of God and the Work of Christ TH002-812
  • The Doctrines of Grace and Eschatology TH003-812
  • Church, Sacraments & Ministry TH004-812
  • Global Theology and World Christianity TH016-812
  • Deliverance & Spiritual Warfare TH026-812

 

Complete the following 4 units, including at least 1 unit at Level 9:

  • Missional Spirituality EM023-812, EM023-912
  • Missional Leadership in the 21st Century PC071-812, PC071-912
  • Missional Hermeneutics EM044-812, EM044-912
  • Cultural Exegesis EM045-812, EM045-912

 

Complete at least 3 of the following units, including no more than 1 unit at Level 7:

  • Faith and the Arts PE005-712

  • Philosophy Essentials for Christian Thinkers PE013-712
  • Faith and the Arts PE005-812

Complete the following unit:

  • Introduction to Research Methods AS001-912

 

Complete up to 4 units of your choice at Level 8 or 9, including a Research Project:

The Research Project allows the opportunity to undertake sustained, in-depth research in the area of the student’s major. A student may wish to choose a longer Research Project (worth 2-3 units) if they wish to keep their options open for further study at Postgraduate Doctoral level.

Academic Qualifications

 

  • Successful completion of a 3-year bachelor degree from any field or equivalent.

 

Language Qualifications for NESB

 

  • Equivalent to IELTS 7.0 overall with a minimum of 7.0 in reading and writing, and 6.5 in listening and speaking OR 10 years of in-country experience.

FEE-HELP

  • FEE-HELP is available for all ACT courses for Australian Citizens and those holding special Visas.*

  • Enrolled students need to apply for FEE-HELP by the Census Date of their first semester of enrolment.

  • Continuing to receive FEE-HELP is dependant upon the student’s academic progress. A student must pass 50% of their units each semester to continue receiving FEE-HELP.*Some conditions apply – see studyassist.gov.au for more information.
