Christian Spirituality is a rich tradition. It has deep roots in the soil of biblical and theological truth and a wide span in the cultures, languages, traditions, and experiences of people whom Scripture refers to as saints. We stand in that long and profound history, and continue to add to it daily through our own lives and experiences.
This unit will introduce you to some of the history of spiritual movements within the Christian faith. The goal of these movements is to discover the depths of our lives in God. This class will explore some of the traditions and practices that people have found useful for discovering a depth of spiritual life, discovering deeper truths of God, greater awareness of self, and a more fulfilling experience of community. Many of our contemporary expressions of faith find their headwaters in these ancient ways.
