Unit Code: EM021-612
Pre or Co-requisites: None
This unit is an introduction to the study of religion in the Australian and global contexts. It explores what
religion is, how we should study it, and surveys some important religious traditions in the Australian context.
Important issues such as religious liberty and secularization in our globalized world are also given some attention.
Due to recent migration patterns and the religious trends in Australia, we focus on the religious traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism. We will also focus on Aboriginal religions in Australia.
Unit availabilities are subject to change. Please contact the enrolments team at enrolments@mst.edu.au for further information.
