Biblical Theology
of Mission
BB007
Explore the centrality of God’s redemptive plan for humanity and creation as it unfolds in the Old and New Testaments. This unit pays particular attention to Christological (Messianic) and Missional (mission of God’s people) themes in the Bible.
Approximately half of this unit is devoted to gaining an understanding of Biblical Theology and the other half is devoted to learning how to apply it. The learning outcomes of the unit are to:
1) Know and understand the biblical foundations for, and the role of humanity in God’s mission as it unfolds from Genesis to Revelation;
2) Be able to explain and discuss the different eras of God’s unfolding plan of salvation; analyse a theme/passage in light of God’s unfolding plan of salvation;
3) Be in a position to apply the biblical theology of mission to personal and contemporary ministry/mission contexts.
