Do you serve in an Asian migrant Church? This lecture could be for you.
It’s a universal truth that the generational gap causes relational tensions. But in our Asian migrant churches this is compounded by the cultural gap between first- and second-generation migrants. It can feel hopeless. But is it?
CAC and MST have asked Rev. Dr. Michael Chu to explore the topic of cultural intelligence and the potential solutions to the intercultural issues plaguing Asian churches in our upcoming Autumn lecture.
Meet the speaker
Rev. Dr. Chu was the Senior Minister at Northern District Chinese Christian Church in Sydney for 25 years and also chaired the Sydney Chinese Christian Churches Association during his time in Sydney. He has taught at various bible colleges and is now the Vice President and Josiah Mann Associate Professor at the China Graduate School of Theology. Rev. Dr. Chu's book, Intercultural competence: Cultural intelligence, pastoral leadership and the Chinese Church, seeks to "reduce cross-cultural conflicts among pastors so that they can direct their energy and time towards the tasks of gospel proclamation, disciple-making and church development."
