Melbourne School of Theology

Bachelor of Theology

Lay a strong foundation for any Christian ministry with an in-depth study across broad areas of systematic theology, Christian thought, ancient languages, and biblical studies.
How to Apply

Introduction

The Bachelor of Theology suits undergraduate students who are interested in attaining a high level of biblical mastery. It involves close attention to one or both of the biblical languages, Hebrew and Greek, and training in the techniques of biblical exegesis, with opportunity for close studies of several biblical books. In the suite of units covered, there is a concentration on biblical and theological units in comparison to other degree types.

Structure

The Bachelor of Theology requires the satisfactory completion of 24 units totalling 288 credit points. Full-time students normally take a study load of 3-4 units per semester, and part-time students 1-2 units per semester.

Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications

 

  • Satisfactorily completed Year 12 with an ATAR of 65 or above, or
  • Successful completion of a qualification at AQF Level 5 or above, or
  • Demonstrate academic suitability through a pre-entrance task.

 

Language Qualifications for NESB

 

  • Equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall with no band score lower than 6.5 in each subtest OR 10 years in Australia with English being the language primarily spoken both at home and work.

FEE-HELP

  • FEE-HELP is available for all ACT courses for Australian Citizens and those holding special Visas.*

  • Enrolled students need to apply for FEE-HELP by the Census Date of their first semester of enrolment.

  • Continuing to receive FEE-HELP is dependant upon the student’s academic progress. A student must pass 50% of their units each semester to continue receiving FEE-HELP.*Some conditions apply – see studyassist.gov.au for more information.
